Dr. Gayle Obermayr earned her Dental Degree in 1987 from the University of North Carolina. A residency in Endodontics at the University of Iowa followed. Her commitment to excellence is evident by her achievements academically and professionally. A recipient of the Pulp Biology Award, Dr. Obermayr served as Secretary of her senior class while attending dental school. As a resident, she was called upon to educate undergraduate dental students.
Dr. Obermayr devotes time and energy to several dental organizations. She is past President of the Florida Association of Endodontists, serves as a member of The West Coast Dental Association, Florida Dental Association, American Dental Association and The Greater Highlands Dental Society Organization. In addition, she is currently an Officer in the Southern Endodontics Study Club, and a Fellow in the American College of Dentists .
Continuing education is a top priority for Dr. Obermayr. She stresses the importance in staying current on any new procedures and technologies affecting dentistry. That is why Dr. Obermayr regularly attends continuing education classes. Course topics range from Advancements in Surgical Endodontics, to Pride Management Training.
A frequent lecturer, Dr. Obermayr shares her expertise with her peers by addressing numerous issues in her presentations. Some topics she has covered include diagnosis of endo/perio lesions, cracked teeth and vertical root fractures, trauma in the dental practice, recent advancements in endodontics, and surgical microscope and evaluation of cracked teeth. Dr. Obermayr has also published articles about microbiology, obturation, and vertical root fractures.
In her free time, Dr. Obermayr enjoys getting together with her family. Her husband, Dr. Michael Kirsch, shares office space with her and they love attending their childrens sporting and school activities. Their son Bryan is 22 years old and their daughter Julie is 18. Dr. Obermayrs other interests include water skiing, boating, fishing, golfing, and playing the piano.
